Q + A

MORE Q&A WILL BE ADDED CLOSER TO THE WEDDING DATE

Are the ceremony & reception at the same location?

Yes and no, the ceremony will take place on the venue's wedding island and is only accessible by the provided shuttles, see the below questions on how to access the shuttles. The reception will take place at the venue's reception room.

What is the venue's address?

Vail Golf Club (also could show up in Google Maps as Vail Ski & Nordic Center) 1775 Sunburst Dr, Vail, CO 81657

When should I arrive in Vail?

We recommend you arrive at least by October 1st to relieve stress of unplanned travel delays and traffic driving to Vail from Denver.

Which airport should I fly into?

Flight and transportation information is listed in the Travel page on the menu above.

If I'm not renting a vehicle how should I get to Vail?

Flight and transportation information is listed in the Travel page on the menu above.

Where should I stay?

We have a hotel room block at the Highline Vail - a DoubleTree by Hilton which is about 10 minutes from the venue. The hotel block information can be found on the Travel page in the menu above. There are other hotels in Vail, if you would like to splurge the Four Seasons has an amazing view of the ski resort. Airbnb is also a great option especially if you would like to share a larger house with a group of people - there are a lot of options for Vail!

What should I wear, is there a dress code?

Yes, cocktail attire is required. Please no jeans, white/ivory, or loud/bright colors/patterns. There is a short walk to the ceremony site so we recommend to not wear heels.

What will the weather and climate be like?

The weather in the mountains varies but typically in October, Vail has cooler weather with daytime highs in the mid 40s to mid 60s°F and nighttime lows in the mid 20s to mid 30s°F. The climate is very dry!! If you are traveling in from a more humid climate these temperatures will be warmer than you are typically used to. Altitude sickness can happen for those ascending to altitude quickly. Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is a generic label applied to symptoms commonly experienced by people visiting high altitudes. Some common symptoms of moderate AMS include but not limited to headache that doesn't respond to typical pain relievers, shortness of breath, dizziness, lethargy, appetite loss, reduced coordination, insomnia, and/or vomiting. If you or someone you are travelling with experience these symptoms, it is important to descend to lower elevations immediately.

How can I best prepare so I do not get altitude sickness?

Make sure you are hydrating ahead of time! Starting 3 weeks before the wedding (the second week of September) drink plenty of water with electrolytes to ensure you are hydrated. It is recommended to at least drink half of your weight in ounces daily (example: 200 lbs should drink 100 oz). The base of Vail, Colorado sits at 8,022 feet above sea level.

When should I arrive at the venue for the ceremony?

You can arrive up to an hour before the ceremony starts - please note you CANNOT park at the venue - see below for more information. We recommend you plan on arriving early as the shuttle service will only be able to make a few loops to and from the hotel before the ceremony begins.

There is NO parking at the venue

We will be providing a shuttle service for ALL guests - it is REQUIRED that you use the shuttle service provided. The venue does not allow parking on site for wedding guests only golf guests due to limited parking. We apologize for the inconvenience but we are planning on making it a seamless experience nonetheless.

Where is the ceremony taking place?

We will be having the ceremony at the golf club's wedding island which is only accessible by the provided shuttles. The wedding island is at the end of a cul-de-sac in a neighborhood. Please do not attempt to drive yourself - your car will get towed if you park in the neighborhood, no exceptions.

How do we get to the wedding island from the shuttle drop off in the neighborhood cul-de-sac?

The wedding island is a short walk from the shuttle drop off/pickup location. The majority of the path is paved but once you arrive at the island it is grass. Ladies I would recommend you do not wear high heels. If you require assistance walking to/from the wedding island please let us know and the golf club will assist you to the island.

What if I am not staying at the hotel room block location?

The shuttle service we are providing will have 2 pick up locations - the Highline Vail - a DoubleTree by Hilton as well as the public shuttle stop at Vail Golf Club. There is a free public shuttle that will stop at Vail Golf Club. We recommend you either take that to the golf club or Uber/Lyft to the golf club in order to be picked up by the shuttle going to the ceremony. If you are staying at a different hotel in Vail if they have a shuttle they may be willing to take you to the Highline Vail in order to get on the shuttle to the ceremony directly - you will need to check with the hotel you are staying at if they will provide this service for you.

How do we get back to the golf club for the reception?

The shuttle service will be transporting you back to the venue for cocktail hour and the reception!

How do I get back to my hotel after the reception?

The shuttle service will start transporting guests back to the Highline Vail - a DoubleTree by Hilton starting at 9:00 PM. If you would like to depart early you can either use the free shuttle to downtown Vail or utilize Uber/Lyft.
